The Opera is going through an unprecedented crisis at all levels. For a good twenty years we have seen this crisis translate into structural problems, governance, lack of vision of cultural policy and real knowledge of the world of the Opera, loss of audience. We have moved away from the vital core of our lyrical houses which are the artists.

Added to this is an energy crisis and the climate emergency facing our institutions. They will have to adapt and become new models of society for the future.

We think that the salvation of the Opera lies in the modernization of staging, the democratization of the profession of artist, all digital, mixing musical styles, overproduction, competition, the buzz, but the Opera is before a whole total art, an art of precision, of respect for the music as well as for the libretto, an art of humility.

Since when is a lyrical theater the place to listen to rock, jazz, tango, salsa and many other musical styles? Do you think this "opening" will reach an audience that will come to our theaters?

Teach our young people to listen, patience, perseverance, respect, beauty, to feel pure emotions, to make people dream... Aren't these the main missions of the Opera?

Let's go back to the foundations of this art, let's give the keys to this secular art to the widest possible audience, but especially from a very young age. Let classical music and the Opera be present in the education of our future generations because a seed planted today may be a beautiful flower tomorrow!
